International Women’s Day 2021

The 8th March marked International Women’s Day. This year’s theme was Choose to Challenge, encouraging people to call out gender bias and inequality.

As a company we’re striving to improve equality and inclusion for all, not just on awareness days but all year round. As with any workplace there’s plenty more to be done, and I’m sure that will be the topic of many future blog posts.

This year to mark International Women’s Day we raised money and clothing donations for Dress for Success Auckland, an organisation with an important mission:

“To empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help women to thrive in work and in life”

On the main First AML blog, we ran a series of profiles on women in the First AML team, including a few from product and engineering. Questions focussed on day to day life and what women’s equality and Choose to Challenge means to them. So over to them!
